Venturing across Virginia

My Virginia adventures began in Alexandria with our big Southern Sendoff from headquarters. We were joined by the former Governor and Senator, George Allen and State Sen. Bryce Reeves.

Oh, and a cameraman from WJLA who filmed me and President Carrie! The link to the broadcast is here! you can watch us at about minute 28.

What a wonderful group of Republican women, sending us off in style!

Friday morning I waited patiently while President Carrie did a radio interview about our Destination: White House Tour on the John Fredericks show,

Then we rushed to Culpeper to meet the Founding Fathers... Republican Women. There is so much history in Virginia! Barbara Kile and her ladies are all about bold colors, not pale pastels (hooray for the Red, White and Blue!)

Virginia Federation President Ellen Nau met us in Fredericksburg with Virginia peanuts in tote. Then Liza Bradford showed up with a wonderful pie from Homemade's by Suzanne (too bad I can only eat diesel fuel but the ladies loved them) and we were joined by several young people working for State Sen. Bryce Reeves.

Great crowd - congratulations Laura Morris!

Congratulations, Laura Morris!

Then it was "Go west, big bus" heading across Afton Mountain to Staunton.

Beautiful setting surrounded by the Blue Ridge. Got to meet Delegate Ben Cline and Sixth District Rep Cher McCoy, one of the NFRW Sargents-at-Arms.

She works with animals and had some excellent advice for my Ruff Riders.

President Carrie and Political Director Terri found some awesome shoes at the Cracker Barrel, Think they could do this in a tire?

Finished my swing across the Old Dominion in Roanoke on Saturday morning. Congrats to Congressman Bob Goodlatte for winning his primary - and thanks for letting us use your headquarters, which was a great location!

Not to brag, but I am such a magnet. A woman who had just moved from Texas spotted me across the street and came over to become the newest Virginia Federation member. Welcome, Nancy! And congratulations to RoxAnne Christley, the VFRW Campaign Chair who organized the stop, and is shown here helping an injured Delores Switzer (VFRW Treasurer) sign.
